Proper Bostonian Quilters Charity Gallery

Lots of our members were sewing charity quilts this past summer. Here is a Show and Tell of charity quilts from the first October, 2024 meeting.

In the fall of 2023, five quilts were donated for Ukrainian refugee children living in Florida. Some of these quilts were made for 2022’s Summer Challenge that was to make a blue and yellow quilt using at least one square of fabric that was given to each member. The results were stunning! Blue and yellow are the colors of the Ukrainian flag and the sunflower is its national flower.

Our guild members have also made quilts to give to refugees who have settled in our community. For this project, we asked everyone to make a single quilt block which incorporated some green fabric. One member sewed the tops and other members did the quilting. These quilts (the first 4 in the top row below) were also reversible!

Quilting for charitable organizations is an on-going project in our guild. Individual members also donate their own finished quilts for the guild to donate. We work as a team as well as on our own to meet the needs of our community and others.

Many thanks to the folks who made all these quilts and quilt blocks!
