Quilting for Others
Part of the joy of quilting is making things for others. We all make gifts for friends and family and occasionally even for ourselves. But one of the most rewarding projects is the one we give to a total stranger. Quilts are love in fabric form.
Our first meeting in October on the evening of the 9th featured the quilts that members brought to donate to charity. It was inspiring to see the variety of designs and fabrics used to make these gorgeous quilts. A total of 10 quilts were collected and will reach their donation destination on October 22. You can see them all in our Charity Quilts Gallery.
The group also discussed the need for donations in the communities affected by hurricane Helene. It was brought to our attention that Keepsake Quilting in Archdale, NC is collecting donations for those who are coping with the storm’s aftermath. If you would like to help, see the instructions in the photo below.
Whether you quilt with a guild, church group, your local quilt shop, in a class, or on your own, giving a quilt that you made from your heart to someone else is a feeling like no other. Keep spreading joy and happy stitching!
