Show and Tell - February 23, 2022

A busy meeting with lots of planning for next year’s program and word games but we had time for Show and Tell of the quilts made by guild members with last names H -M.

Show and Tell - February 9, 2022

On cold winter night we gathered for a short meeting with an inspiring show and tell with quilts made by members with their last names starting with A - G, and one T!

Show and Tell - November 10, 2021

Here’s small Show and Tell at our meeting from our November 10th meeting. The Regatta quilts which were shown were added to the Regatta gallery.

Show and Tell, October 27, 2021

Despite a windy and rainy October Nor’Easter we had a good turn out for our meeting. This is Show and Tell from Covid Lock-down for members whose last names start with the letters L-Z.

Show and Tell - October 13, 2021 Members with Last Names G- K

Another great meeting with the second round of Show and Tell quilts sewn by our members during lock down due to the Covid 19 epidemic. So many beautiful quilts!

Show and Tell, September 22, Members with Last Names A-F

On September 22, 2021, we had our first quilt guild meeting since January 2020. Members with last names starting with A through F were invited to show quilts they had sewn since our last meeting. Show and Tells for the rest of the alphabet will be done at our next two meetings.

The light in the room was behind the quilts, so the colors in the quilts are duller than in real life. My apologies. Will see if we can find a better location to take the photos next meeting.

Virtual Show and Tell - October 2020

Our Guild hasn’t been meeting since March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But our members have been busy sewing at home. This is a Show and Tell of with photos sent in by PBQ members so that we can share what we’ve been doing since we were last together. Comments are usually not allowed on our posts, but for this post, you may post comments if you’d like to. Enjoy!

Claire C. : Left to Right:

  • Far left is the top of the quilt, middle left is the back. I took two blocks of the month from the Herring Run Guild and liked so much that I made a whole quilt. The backing fabrics a favorite Kaffe Fassett.

  • Middle right is was a mystery quilt from Kathryn Leblanc of Dragonfly’s Quilting Design Studio. Claire did this mystery with a small group of quilting friends.

  • Far right: A quilt design by our own Marcia Kennedy!

Elaine M. : “Mary’s Quilt”. Block design is from “The New Quick and Easy Block Tool Book”.

Suzanne K. : Two matching on-point quilts made for my grandsons. Suzanne used charm packs and cut them to 2 1/2 inch squares, twenty across in 40 rows ….800 in total! The boys are thrilled with their new quilts!

Mary H. : Left to right

  • I started this quilt with the idea of letting the light into dark during COVID.

  • My art group created a challenge to make art inspired by other’s work. This was inspired by Nancy Marks’ paintings of abstract urban landscapes.

  • This curvy improv took forever to finish—-years!! I have no quilt piecing experience and the quilt has many darts and hand sewn overlays.

Judy T. Left to right:

  • Beach quilt from a panel that was cut up.

  • Three yard quilt pattern called “Attraction” from Fabric Café® , using Tula’s True Colors fabric line from Free Spirit

  • “Post-Cuts”, a queen size quilt made from scraps left over from making face masks. A nice memory of the stash that was!

Patty W. Left to right:

  • This piece includes applique and FMQ. It measures approximately 40"x46". It is a baby gift for a little girl to be born any day now.

  • In this wall quilt, measuring 24"x16," I used all scrap material and then FMQed the entire piece. I finished it with facing rather than binding.

  • This piece was inspired by listening to my three year old grandson sing "You Are My Sunshine." It is 32.5 inches square. The background is traditionally pieced, the letters and center orange are raw edge, and then I FMQed the entire piece.

Patricia M. :

  • My first quilt ever!! Basket weave that I made for my sister’s beach house!

  • My second quilt. I made this for my granddaughter. I inadvertently brought her with me to the fabric store and she fell in love with a certain material that to her looked like dragon skin. Perhaps a future quilter???

Janet H. Left to right :

  • Grammy Janet’s perky, peachy, classic nine patch blocks are paired with teal for my first granddaughter’s quilt, August 2020. I did the fun daisy quilting pattern myself renting a long-arm machine at Bits ‘n Pieces in Pelham, NH.

  • Baby quilt made in December 2019 using the hounds tooth block of the PBQ month from June 2018.

Jane C. “Forty Shades of Green” made for our 40th Anniversary in August.

Marcia K. All these quilts are charity quilts to be donated to PBQ. Left to right:

  • Black Dot Multicolor Weave. Original design. Love the challenge of making sure the stripes all weave in and out.

  • Green wheelchair. Original design. Made specifically to give to Kace when she requested quilts for people in wheelchairs.

  • Rainbow Star. Original design. Crib/nap quilt.

Nancy D. Left to right:

  • Hand printed flowers from my garden, with commercial fabrics.

  • Goin’ to the City lap quilt.

  • Scrappy lap quilt.

Kathy A. : “Wild Animals”. The center is a panel and the rest is pieced and appliquéd. It’s a gift for my granddaughter’s nanny who is expecting a son in January. I pieced and appliquéd the quilt. It was quilted by Cindy LeBaron.

Sr. Clare : A Three Dudes Quilt from a tutorial by Jenny Doan and Rob Appell. This quilt was made to drape over the arm chair of a priest-friend of mine. 36 x 68 inches.

Pat K. : Left to right. All these quilts were quilted by Rhonda Deering, South Dartmouth, MA.

  • Scraps from my quilt table…no pattern. 38 x 44 inches

  • Merry Christmas Cait. Pattern is “Sweet Love”. 51 x 61 inches.

  • Baby Girl. Pattern is “Slide Show” by Arkinson Design. 53 x 68 inches.

Anne F. : “Starry Starry Night”, completed entirely from my mother-in-law’s stash for a baby due to arrive in the world in November!

Show and Tell - January 22, 2020

Folks have been busy finishing lots of projects this winter!

Show and Tell - June 12, 2019

We had a Show and Tell at our end of the year June dinner. Included were the floral quilts and quilt tops from the 2018-2019 Mystery Quilt project hosted by Marcia Kennedy, as well as other quilts members have been working on. The Minimalist Modern Round Robin group shared their quilt tops too (hopefully to be shown at a later date when they are finished), making for a diverse and fun Show and Tell.

Quilts and Quilt Tops from the 2018-2019 Mystery Quilt project.

Projects members have been working on.

Show and Tell - April 24, 2019, Treasured Old Quilts and New Projects

This month we asked for members to bring in the “oldest” quilt they have, as well as any new quilts or projects. Some beauties came out many closets!

Show and Tell - January 9, 2019

A great Show and Tell to start of the New Year! Including a few New Year’s Day Mystery Quilts!

Show and Tell - October 10, 2018

Here’s our October Show and Tell.

The Christmas quilts are some of the quilts being donated to Marden’s. There are lots more Charity Christmas Quilts currently “Under Construction”!

Show and Tell - February 14, 2018

We had a great Show and Tell. It was the focus of the Valentine's Day meeting.  Here are some, but not all, of the quilts.

There were quite a few folks who worked on the 2018 Merry Mayhem's New Year's Day Mystery quilt.  This wasn't a PBQ Guild project, but it is an annual tradition for some of our members. Here are just a few of those quilts.
